Looking for that one-of-a-kind gift for your one-of-a-kind dad?
Showing a extremely rare Vintage Rigid Wolverine R-36 Hunting Knife New Old Stock! Made in Santee California and it is in mint condition never used, carried or sharpened. Still has the sharp factory edge. Very well made leather open top sheath! It is Rigid's small version of a full tang blade for delicate skinning or light/moderate duty work. The knife weighs in at 3.8 ounces and only a total of 6.2 ounces when carried in the sheath. Has a cutting edge of 2.5 inches and is 7 inches over all with exotic hardwood scales. Also the blade steel is a 440-C, between 58 and 60 on the Rockwell "C" hardness scale. If I had to guess, because of the light weight of the knife and the finish look, the bolsters are made of solid nickel silver. If the knife is purchased for show, the bolsters could use a fine buff, there is no damage or deep scratches to this knife. The original box is in good condition, but no warranty card was in the box.
After some research we believe the vintage of this knife is sometime in the 1970's or very early 1980's. Also in our research we found some interesting history about the makers, Bill Duff, Dean Parks, and Don Collum at one time they were blade smiths that work for or were somehow related to Buck Knives.
